Flossing is an essential part of
dental hygiene. Unfortunately, many people either floss incorrectly or don't floss
at all. With a little practice, you can make proper flossing a normal
part of your hygiene routine.
This video offers a clear demonstration of how you should floss. First,
you need to select the right kind of floss. Many people prefer waxed floss
because it slides easier, while people with gaps between their teeth are
best off with tape floss. Once you break off an 18-inch piece of gloss,
wrap it around your index fingers, place the floss between your teeth,
wrap it around your tooth, and work the floss up and down. Repeat for
each tooth in your mouth. If you have any questions, John R. Pallotta,
DMD can help you better understand proper dental hygiene so you can have
a healthier mouth.
